Donald R. Slusher, 86, of Reading went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 22, 2020 at home.
He was born in Hudson to Benjamin and Florence (Sunior) Slusher. He married Donna (Kyser) in 1954 and later married Myrtle (Yockey) in 1988 and she survives.
He started employment at Game Time in Litchfield. He also worked at Challenge Cook Brothers in Bryan, OH and later retired from JESCO in Litchfield. He loved to go to auctions and collecting memorabilia. He had a dream for everything that he bought. Don had also been a member of Pleasant Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church in West Unity, OH.
Surviving besides his wife, Myrtle, are two daughters, Susan (Chris) Pierce of Coldwater, Cindy Smith of Reading; one son, Clinton (Jo) Slusher of Montgomery; sister Evelyn (Don Taylor) Ladd of Jonesville; brother Benjamin (Grace) Slusher of West Unity, OH; Step-children, Penny (Pat) Tappenden of Coldwater, Sherry (Craig) Gaff of Coldwater, Linda Fick of Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Roger; brother, Lee and three sisters, Velma, Ann and Hartis Rose.
In the interest of the public health and by executive order from the State of Michigan requiring 10 people or less for indoor social gatherings, a visitation with social distancing for Donald R. Slusher will take place Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Maplewood Cemetery in Reading with Elders Tom and Dennis St. John officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to either Humane Society in Hillsdale or Branch Counties.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
