Mick
was born August 26, 1950 in Coldwater to Gerald J. and Kay E. (Nealy) Murphy
and on May 24, 1980 he married Judy Dearman in Bronson and she survives.
He had received his Associate’s degree from
Glenn Oaks Community College from which he pursued work in a variety of fields;
he had been employed at the RV factory in Middlebury, GF Business, Ross Labs in
Sturgis as a lab technician, Community Health Center of Branch County as a respiratory technician,
and finally had finished his career with the Bronson Journal.
Mick always found
time to enjoy the outdoors and wildlife; he was a lifelong fisherman that was a
part of several fishing clubs and he also loved to read. Mick was witty and
humorous, qualities that were only complemented by his ability to tell stories,
he was a “teller of tales;” but he was also a dedicated and charismatic man,
not only to his work and passions but most of all to his family. He will be
dearly missed for the husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many that
he was.
In
addition to his wife Judy, Mick is survived by his two sons Ryan (Melissa)
Murphy of Battle Creek, Darren (Kate) Murphy of Sturgis; one brother Tim (Deb)
Murphy of Bronson; nine grandchildren Makenzie, Aidan, Aubrey, Isaac, Olivia,
Raegan, Claire, Grayson, Lincoln; and his loving nieces and nephews.
Michael
was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Kathy.

are suggested to the Naomi Davis Shelterhouse in Coldwater.
