COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally approved a two year contract with Juvenile Defender Ben Jewell on Tuesday afternoon.
His current contract expires on December 31, 2021.
A request was submitted by Juvenile Court Administrator/Referee Wendy Gensch for the Commissioners to approve a new contract in the amount of $76,800 per year for two years.
The contract amount increased by $3,600.
Gensch said during last week’s Commissioners work session she would have grant money available to help pay for the increase.
The new contract with Jewell is effective through December 31, 2023.
