COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say 3 teenagers were hurt yesterday morning in Branch County in a single vehicle crash in Coldwater Township on Michigan Avenue south of Jonesville Road. Troopers say 19-year old Christopher Davis of Tekonsha was northbound on Michigan when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway and lost control of his 1999 Ford Ranger pickup. The truck went into a ditch and crashed into a utility pole.
Davis and the two passengers suffered minor injuries with two of them taken to the Community Health Center of Branch County to be checked out while the third one was treated at the scene. Davis was issued with a pair of tickets, being cited for driving without a valid operator’s license and for violation of the basic speed law. According to troopers, alcohol was not a factor. The accident happened around 7:30 am Thursday.
