COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Efforts have been made in recent weeks to eliminate problems that have developed with Branch County’s 700/800 megahertz radio system.
After running smoothly for the most part since going on line almost a year ago, some Gremlins have apparently gotten into the system including the Michigan State Police having problems with their radios interacting with the Branch County system.
Branch County 911 Director Bob Swick said during Wednesday’s 911 Board meeting that ACD Telecom will spend the next year making sure the operation of the system runs to everyone’s satisfaction.
Swick said they may not have to pay the entire amount of over $11,000.
Any money paid to ACD Telecom would come from 911 funds.
Besides communication issues with Michigan State Police radios, Swick mentioned there were other problems.
The 911 Board recommended County Commissioners approve a payment of over $6,800 to pay for the recent troubleshooting work.
It is expected to come before the Board of Commissioners during their work session next week.
