COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Donohue & Associates, Incorporated of Grand Rapids has completed a Clean Water State Revolving Fund Planning Document for the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities which was presented to the B.P.U. Board of Directors on Wednesday night.
The plan took about a year to put together. It focuses on replacing aged equipment and expanding the Water Resource and Recovery Facility.
Mike Harvey from Donohue & Associates said the process of submitting an application to the Clean Water State Revolving Fund has several steps.
He said there have been numerous applications for funding.
The document that has been put together is available on the city’s web site at www.coldwater.org.
The next step in the process is a required Public Hearing and City Council approval which is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Once approved, Donohue will submit the document to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy in order to pursue a Clean Water Loan.
It’s estimated the W.R.R.F. expansion design and construction costs are just under $16 million for the first year with a total cost of about $49-point-2 million.
