ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – An Illinois man was taken into custody on Sunday following a police pursuit in St. Joseph County.
Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near Front Street and Halfway Road in Burr Oak but the driver refused to stop and led deputies on a pursuit.
The pursuit ended near the intersection of Lakeview Avenue and Lafayette Street in the City of Sturgis.
Deputies were able to take the 21-year-old man into custody without further incident on charges of Fleeing & Eluding along with carrying a concealed weapon.
Deputies were assisted by the Sturgis Police Department.
