LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan’s unemployment rate for October was up .2% from September. The state Department of Technology, Management & Budget says it is now 4.1%.
Economists add the labor market trends from October 8 through the 14th included the active UAW strike in the state. As a result, they say the unemployment rate was impacted.
The state’s jobless rate of 4.1% for the month was slightly higher than the national rate of 3.9%. Employment in Michigan rose by 9,000 and unemployment was up by 15,000 over September. The total labor force rose by 23,000 between September and October.
