COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Juvenile Court Administrator Wendy Gensch complained to the Branch County Board of Commissioners during their work session on Thursday that there is a lack of communication with County Administrator Bud Norman.
She expressed her confusion about a so-called “retention check” that was issued Monday. Gensch was also upset about a 2024 general fund staffing plan for her department that she claims has been changed without her knowledge.
Norman said there has been a lengthy reclassification discussion for two Probate Court positions.
Commissioners gave formal approval on Tuesday to 4-point-5 percent wage increases in 2024 for Elected Officials as well as for Non-Union and Management Personnel. Commissioners are not included in the wage increases for elected officials.
Gensch is the only non-union member of probate and juvenile court. The other six employees belong to the Service Employees International Union.
Gensch expressed her displeasure at about this time last year regarding a lack of action on a request to promote two Juvenile Court employees. A grievance was filed by her employees because of the delays which led Gensch to compare the situation to a dog chasing its tail.
Just fire Dud Norman. How many times must this be said before you finally listen and axe him? No resignation. No retirement. Fire him!
