COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A man who entered guilty pleas to a pair of charges for crimes committed in April of 2022 was ordered to serve up to ten years in the Michigan Department of Corrections on Thursday in Branch County Circuit Court.
38-year-old Kenneth Morrill admitted his guilt to charges of possession of methamphetamine and for the illegal sale or use of a financial transaction device.
In exchange for his pleas, prosecutor dismissed charges of being in possession of burglar tools and stealing or retaining a financial transaction device without consent as well as two counts receiving or concealing less than $200 of stolen property.
Morrill was charged following a Coldwater Police Department investigation. Michigan Department of Corrections records show he was previously convicted on a pair of Hillsdale County weapons charges in June of 2022.
The sentences he received in Branch County Circuit Court will run concurrent to the time he is serving for the Hillsdale County convictions.
