QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy varsity boys’ basketball team defeated Mendon 56-46 on Monday night in a non-conference game played inside of the Coolest Gym in Michigan.
Mendon took a 15-13 lead after the first quarter thanks to hot shooting from 3-point land.
Quincy regrouped in the second quarter, taking the momentum with a 15-8 surge and grabbing a 28-23 halftime lead.
The third quarter was tight with the Orioles edging Mendon 11-10 as they built a 39-33 lead heading into the final stanza.
Mendon got as close as two points in the final quarter but Quincy put them away behind key baskets from Alex Barry and Ryan Kempter. Solid free throw shooting by Grant Carter and Corey Turner iced the game.
