BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It was a busy day at the track Friday, with all four Branch County teams in action.
PORTAGE NORTHERN HUSKIE INVITATIONAL
Coldwater competed at the Portage Northern Huskie Invitational. The girls placed fifth with 80.5 points, while the boys were seventh with 63 points. St. Joseph won both the boys and girls meet. Winners for the Cardinals were Jackson Reilly in the boys shot put, Marie Powers in the girls shot put, and Ella Grabowski in the girls long jump.
Grabowski broke the long jump record Friday with a jump of 17′ 4 3/4 ” set 43 years ago by Lisa Kellogg at 16′ 9 1/2″.

COMSTOCK INVITATIONAL
Quincy’s boys and girls teams placed second at the Comstock Invitational. The Oriole boys finished with 108.75 points, while champion Centreville had 118. The Lady O’s had 93 points; champion Lawton finished with 126. Bronson was seventh in the girls meet with 57 points; the Vikings boys were ninth with 36.75 points. For Quincy, Clayton Benson swept both boys hurdle events, Noah Rufenacht won the boys high jump, and Corey Turner took the boys pole vault, while Charlotte Crabbs won the girls 3200m run, Brookelyn Parker won the girls 100 hurdles, and the girls 3200m relay team claimed victory.

UNION CITY AT STOCKBRIDGE
Union City swept to victory at Stockbridge, taking the boys meet 81-56 and the girls meet 72-59. Double winners for the Charger boys include Nathaniel Maurer in the hurdle races and Logan Cole in the throwing events. Also winning were Riley Laird in the 200m, Hunter Sinke in the 400m, Rick Austin in the long jump, and the 400, 800, and 1600m relay teams. The Lady Chargers swept all four relay races; also winning were Attica Hoath in the 200m, Parker Williams in the 400m, Nevada Gillons in the 100m hurdles, and Lillian Eyre in the high jump.
