BUTLER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Butler Motor Speedway opens up another season of racing this Saturday night.
The 3/8 mile dirt track began operating in 1952. This will be the third year the track is being operated by Tim Wilber and his family.
Numerous improvements have been made to the track since Wilber took over.
Among the updates during this past off season was new LED lighting in the infield to improve driver safety and to help brighten the track for better visibility.
The track announced in March they will increase in the total purse payout for the 2024 racing season by nearly $100,000 over the 2023 total, through special event and weekly payout increases.
The opening night will feature 410 Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Four-Cylinders.
Qualifying starts at 6:00 p.m. with the first race at 7:30 p.m.. Weekend camping is available.
Butler Motor Speedway is a cash only facility.
