Ronald “Sam” Teachout, 92, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at LakeHouse Coldwater.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Lockwood Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Looper from Lockwood Community Church officiating.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Ronald was born February 17, 1932, in Coldwater, MI to Alfred & Genevieve (Walker) Teachout. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.
Sam married Norma Smith, she preceded him in death on June 7, 1969. He married Pauletta Ivey on December 13, 1970, in Coldwater.
Mr. Teachout worked for Federal Mogul, Borg Warner and Quality Springs, retiring in 1993. He was also a lifelong farmer, owning and operating his family farm. Sam was a licensed pilot for many years and belonged to the Branch County Fly-In Club.
He was a member of Lockwood Community Church and the Masons. Sam enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, traveling and camping. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and treasured family time spent together.
Sam is survived by his wife Pauletta; his children Brian (Sue) Barnes of Marshall, Janet (Martin) Landis of Coldwater; his grandchildren Crystal Schippers, Brian (Heather) Barnes, Robert (Ashley) Barnes, Matt Barnes, Corie (Shane) Lawton, Kyler Landis and 9 great grandchildren.
In addition to this first wife, he was preceded in death by his sons David Teachout, Michael Barnes and sisters Vivian Kennedy, Marian Long and Evelyn Pierce.
