Kenneth C. McClughen, 77, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his home.
A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
Private family interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
He was born November 16, 1946, in Coldwater to Jack and Mary (Firestone) McClughen. He married Sandy Denbrock, and she survives.
Ken, also known as “K.C.” and “Fat Albert” attended Coldwater High School and graduated from Quincy High School. He was a long-time employee at Hillsdale Tool where he was a quality engineer. For many years, you could find him coaching and playing slow pitch softball.
Beyond the diamond, Ken loved to volunteer his time with the Reading Track Team, where he would assist at meets in any way necessary. His warmth and generosity extended into the Christmas season, where he dressed up as Santa Claus for local events.
Ken proudly served in the US Air Force from 1964-1968.
Surviving besides his wife, Sandy are two children, Michelle (Thad) Paul and Darin Shaw; grandchildren, Micha and Tanner Paul; and special grandchildren, Gabby and Noah Coppernell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary McClughen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
