Eugene “Geno” Burritt, 77, of Quincy passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Geno will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Union Church of Quincy, 8 Fulton Street, Quincy, MI 49082.
A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Union Church Fellowship Hall.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Geno was born on March 7, 1947 to Vern and Mildred (Drumm) Burritt in Coldwater. He graduated from Coldwater High School with the Class of 1967. On December 27, 1969, he married Mary L. Coyne in Jackson, Michigan and together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage.
Geno worked at Acorn in Quincy until they closed and most recently at Meijer in Coldwater. He enjoyed playing cornhole, softball, bowling, coaching sports, euchre, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Geno was a devout Lions, Tigers and U of M Fan.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Geno is survived by his sons, Dave (Jami) Burritt of Quincy and Dan Burritt of Quincy; his grandchildren, Austin, Christian, Ethan, Abigail, Daniel, and Logan; his sisters, Rhea Walker of Girard, Karen Walker of Girard, Leona McFate of Jackson, and Martha Elridge of Kalamazoo and many nieces and nephews.
Geno was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Harley Burritt and his sister Bonnie Burritt.
