HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal boys cross country team finished fourth in the Interstate 8 while the girls were fifth in the conference as the I-8 Championship was held on Thursday in Hastings.
The Cardinals had two all conference performers. Coldwater freshman Gwen Eby was Girls First Team All Conference finishing in sixth place. Sophomore Drew Vanderpuyl earned Boys Honorable Mention by finishing 12th.
On the girls side, Eby was joined in the scoring by Annika Johnson in 20th place (22:48), Miyah Moore in 30th (24:19), Olivia Golematis in 40th (25:16) and Elizabeth Tortes-Ojeda in 44th (26:08).
On the boys side, Vanderpuyl was joined by Luke Aerts in 20th (18:40), Sebastian Hernandez in 21st (18:55), Parker Hetrick in 44th (20:12) and Talan Doll in 33rd (20:52) to round out the scoring.
Coldwater had 3 PRs on the evening in Skyler Hoffman, Logan Decker and Norah VanWagner. Ben Uetrecht had a season best.
