COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Victim Services Unit for the Branch County Sheriff’s Department is in need of volunteers.
The all-volunteer unit is called out by 911 to provide crisis intervention for Branch County citizens. They can be called out at any time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Men and women over 18 years old who have a high level of professionalism, compassion and respect for others are needed.
The Sheriff’s Department says the Victim Services Unit is not an emergency service. Volunteers will not be acting as law enforcement officers or firefighters.
There is an interviewing process along with extensive training if chosen for the team and ride-alongs with current VSU volunteers until you’re comfortable.
More information is available at the Sheriff’s Department Facebook page.
