COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A trial for one of the suspects arrested last October following a Coldwater Police investigation into alleged illegal drug activity at a house on South Polk Street will not take place as scheduled on Tuesday in Branch County Circuit Court.
Five charges against 25-year-old Cody Edmonds of Burlington were dropped last week by the Branch County Prosecutor’s Office.
A motion was filed that is known legally as nolle prosequi, which leaves open the possibility the defendant maybe re-indicted on the same charges sometime in the future.
The charges dismissed included delivering heroin and meth.
Three days had been blocked off on the Circuit Court calendar for the trial.
