COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Consumers Energy says restoration work is scheduled to wrap up Sunday following Wednesday’s wind storm. Wind gusts of over 60 miles an hour sent 355,000 customers throughout Michigan into the dark, with some not having power for four days.
Those without power had to endure below freezing temperatures over the last few days.
The restoration of power is wrapping up just in time for a late season snow storm that is expected to dump three to five inches of snow on the region on Monday.
Consumers says 166 crews from six states assisted their employees in getting the power back on.
There were about 14,000 Consumers Energy customers system wide who were without power Sunday morning which included 125 customers in Branch County.
As of 8:00 a.m.m Sunday, everyone was back on line in the Coldwater area, while 45 customers were out in Quincy, 18 in Bronson, seven in Union City and 56 in Sherwood.
