COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has received an American Public Power Association Sue Kelly Community Service Award during the American Public Power Association’s National Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
The award recognizes “good neighbor” activities that demonstrate the commitment of the utility and its employees to the community.
Coldwater Board of Public Utilities delivers impactful programs that strengthen education and enhance quality of life for its more than 8,200 customers in the Coldwater area.
Its School Supply Drive contributed $1,000 in school supplies to area students.
The utility expanded the “Monster Detective Collective” program with locally developed materials and hands-on demonstrations to reinforce STEM education and utility awareness as well as their support of a park revitalization project, and sponsorships and donations to local organizations, continues to enhance community spaces and connections.
CBPU Utility Director Paul Jakubczak says “Being a community-owned utility means our success is directly tied to the success of Coldwater,” he added “We’re proud to support programs that strengthen community connections and make Coldwater a great place to live and work.”
