The Altrusa Club of Branch County recently was awarded $1000 in gift cards from the Coldwater Meijer store to support their Happy Feet Program. The club says the gift will be instrumental in providing shoes, boots, and socks to the needy children in Branch County.
Children ages 1-19 are eligible for this program. The recipients represent 23 sites in the county. Having appropriate footwear enhances their ability to stay healthy, especially during these winter months.
This is the 13th year for the Happy Feet Program. Meijer has been an ongoing supporter through these years. Last year Altrusa provided 492 pairs of footwear. Overall, 5000 pairs have been distributed at a cost of $75,000.
