UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City area “Giving Tree” project was a big success this year, as generous residents donated over 400 Christmas gifts in hopes this will be a brighter Christmas for those who are in need.
A total of 26 families and 78 children were helped, and with so many donations, no child got less than five gifts.
Those who wanted to helped simply stopped by the Village office and sponsored an area youngster by selecting a tag off the Giving Tree.
Criteria for sponsorship required that the children be under the age of 18 and have a genuine financial family need.
They must also live in Union City and/or attend Union City Schools.
Personal information is not shared with sponsors.
