Clarice Grace Rocho, 89, of Sherwood Township passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at home under hospice care, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Clarice will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 25, 2025 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation, 1276 Tate Trail, Union City, MI 49094, with Pastor Daryl Dexter from Sherwood Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., also at the Lighthouse in Union City.
Clarice was born December 26, 1935 to Clarence “Ed” and Evabelle (Hart) Higgins in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1954. March 3, 1956, Clarice married John Rocho in Sherwood.
She enjoyed attending the Union City Alumni Banquet with her classmates every year. Upon John’s retirement, she and John traveled with the Airstream Travel Club for over 20 years. They visited most of the United States. Clarice’s favorite trip was to Newfoundland, Canada. Winters were spent in Melbourne, Florida, which was her happy place. She enjoyed many friends and activities in their over 55 community for 28 winters.
Clarice was a quilter and made quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved playing games and cribbage was her favorite. Clarice was a member of Sherwood Free Methodist Church. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and knew her Bible well.
Clarice is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, John; her cherished children, Karen (Larry) Jackson, Kevin (Rebecca) Rocho, and Keith Rocho (Christy Miller); her 9 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Carol Taylor, Ronald Higgins, and Robert Higgins; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers, Clarence “Sonny” Higgins, and Clayton James Higgins.
