Wanda Delight Penrod, 98 of Coldwater passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Coldwater. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery.
First visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. Second visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the First Baptist Church in Coldwater.
She was born October 13, 1926 to Herbert and Onda (Swartzbaugh) Clay in Lewisburg, OH. January 1, 1947 Wanda married Leslie Penrod in Dayton, OH and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2016.
Wanda was a person that valued people and serving her community; she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Coldwater, Coldwater Chamber of Commerce, and the North Chain of Lakes Association.
She began her working career directly out of high school as a secretary with Dayton River Tire Company but would ultimately own and operate the Willow’s Campground and Marina with her husband Leslie for 50 dedicated years.
Though Wanda appreciated the fruits of labor and hard work, she was also sure to make time for the joys in her life where she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, sewing, and above all, time shared with her loving family.
Wanda leaves behind her children Howard (Susan) Penrod of Vermontville, MI, Sheila (Gordon) Mann of Yorktown, VA; her 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; her many loving nieces and nephews; and several campground friends.
In addition to her husband Leslie Penrod, she was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Karen McClughen, her sisters Regenia McCurdy, Janice Braumbriester, and her brothers Paul Clay and Norman Clay.
Memorial donations are suggested to Make a Wish Foundation or to the First Baptist Church in Coldwater.
