Andrew was born February 9, 1996 to Chad and Summer (Justice) Bixler in Franklin, IN. Raised in a Christian family as the eldest of ten siblings, Andrew embraced leadership and faith from an early age. At the age of 12, under the spiritual guidance of dear friend and Pastor Arnold Fair at Angola Faith Baptist Church, Andrew made the most important decision of his life, accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. This decision would become the bedrock of everything he would do.
Andrew felt the Lord’s calling on his life and answered it with unwavering commitment. He pursued ministry training at the Faith Baptist College of Canada, where he earned his Bachelor of Theology degree. His heart for service led him to Calvary Baptist Church in Quincy, Michigan, where he poured himself into ministry for seven years. There, he served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, teen group leader, and worship leader; roles in which his faith, leadership, and compassion touched many lives.
Before his time in ministry, and in between seasons of service, Andrew worked with integrity and diligence. He was employed by Clemens Food Group in Coldwater, MI for three years and later fulfilled and accepted his position with the Indiana State Police, where he intended to bring together his pursuance of justice and his passion for his faith to serve as an outreach to his fellow first responders.
Beyond his work and ministry, Andrew was a man of many passions. He was an avid reader with a deep appreciation for collecting books, a reflection of his thoughtful and inquisitive mind. He also loved the outdoors and sports of all kinds, especially playing sports with his siblings. Whether woodworking, target shooting, or spending time in nature, he found joy in life’s simple blessings. Yet above all, his greatest joy was time spent with family, loving them, laughing with them, and leading them in faith.
Andrew’s life was marked by humility, strength, and unwavering devotion to God. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched through his faith, his example, and his love.
Andrew leaves behind his loving parents, Chad & Summer Bixler; his siblings Anna (Sean) Wheeler, Benjamin Bixler, Caleb Bixler, David Bixler, Ethan Bixler, Gabriel Bixler, Bethany Bixler, Joseph Bixler, Luke Bixler; his grandparents, Randy (Kay) Bixler, Paul (Paula) Justice; and his expected nephew that he was eagerly awaiting to be his loving uncle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Quincy.
