COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council will be asked on Monday night to introduce a pair of resolutions regarding the proposed sale of nine vacant parcels on Wallace Lane totaling $180,000 as part of the first phase of the Western Meadows development.
One of the sales involves four parcels being sold by the city to Alliance Homebuilders, LLC. The second resolution involves the city selling five parcels to Green Development Ventures, LLC.
Plans call for single-family homes to be built on the land along Western Avenue. Each of the parcels are being sold for $20,000.
As the seller, the City of Coldwater will be required to extend the water and wastewater to the parcel lines and the road.
Alliance Homebuilders is owned and operated by David and Monica Lowder while Green Development Ventures is owned and operated by Allen Edwin Homes. Both companies have built several homes in Coldwater and the surrounding area.
The City Charter requires that when public property is sold, the conveyance must remain on the table for 30 days for public inspection.
Due to the council’s schedule, the first regularly scheduled meeting after the 30-day time period at which the sale could be acted upon is on March 9.
The vacant lots are being developed as part of the first of three phases. The development will eventually have 30 to 35 condo units.
