COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Local government offices in Coldwater and throughout Branch County will be closed this Friday, April 3 in observance of Good Friday.
The City of Coldwater and the Board of Public Utilities will suspend administrative operations for the day, though residents can still report utility emergencies by calling (517) 279-9531.
Additionally, the Branch County Courthouse and all general county departments including the Branch County Annex Building, Veterans Affairs, Burnside Center, Public Defenders Office, and MSU Extension will be closed, along with municipal offices in Bronson, Union City, and Quincy.
While local offices close, services at the state and federal levels will largely continue as Good Friday is not a federally recognized holiday.
The U.S. Postal Service will maintain regular mail delivery, most area banks will remain open, and Republic Services will proceed with its normal Friday trash collection schedule.
One notable exception is the Branch County Secretary of State office, which remains closed this week as it transitions to a new location on Marshall Street.
Regular business hours for most local government entities will resume Monday, April 6.
