COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The leading democrat candidate in the Michigan senate race will be in Coldwater next month.
Abdul El Sayed currently the frontrunner in the Democrat Primary for US Senate is scheduled to make a campaign stop Coldwater on June 5, as part an early swing through southern Michigan.
Recent polling from Mitchell Research and Communications shows El-Sayed leading the field with 28% support, placing him ahead of Congresswoman Haley Stevens and State Senator Mallory McMorrow.
The visit comes as candidates ramp up efforts to reach rural voters ahead of the August 4 primary, seeking to consolidate support in a race that remains highly competitive with roughly 38% of voters still undecided.
Branch County Democrats say El Sayed will hold a meet and greet from 4:30 p,m to 6:30 p.m. on Friday June 5, but the location of that campaign event is yet to be announced.
