LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) released an autopsy report for one of the inmates who died after being rushed to a hospital from Michigan’s only women’s Prison.
According to the MDOC, the autopsy for 36-year-old Ashley Hoath of Hillsdale County was released, with her cause of death determined to be a, “death as suicide by acute salicylate (aspirin) toxicity,”
MDOC says investigations into the deaths of other inmates who died at the Huron Valley Correctional Facility are still ongoing.
The facility has faced scrutiny from lawmakers, and former inmates who have alleged poor environmental conditions inside the facility including mold.
