COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 31-year-old male moped driver is in critical condition this morning following a two-vehicle collision Monday.
Michigan State Police from the Marshall Post responded to the crash at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Marshall Road and Newton Road north of Coldwater.
The moped collided with a minivan driven by a 92-year-old male, who escaped the accident without any injuries.
Emergency crews from Life Care Ambulance treated the critically injured moped driver at the scene before transferring him to a nearby open area to be airlifted to Beacon Hospital in Kalamazoo.
State Police confirmed that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the collision. The accident remains under investigation, and MSP is asking anyone with information to contact the Marshall Post.
