COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – There appears to lots of interest in the Coldwater Community Schools Board of Education this year.
Nine candidates have filed for three open seats on the board of education in the November 3 general election.
Current board members Dr. Edward Lake and Jeff Holbrook decided to not run for reelection, while incumbent Clair Dean did file for another six-year term.
Other filing include John Towers, Heather Harvey, April Rose, Shawn Caldwell, Joel Niedzwiecki, Ronald Lanford, MaryAnn Schorfhaar, and Nicholas Kanouse.
For Quincy Community Schools, there are three seats available, with Brian Preston, Tim Miller, and Thomas Madden filing.
The Union City Community Schools has three six-year terms open, with Amber Herman, Clayton Hulsey, Darin LaBar, and Tyler Burgett filing. Kate Stanton was the only person to file for a two-year partial term.
Bronson Community Schools also has three six-year terms open, with Erica Norton, Kristen Carpenter, Tyson Franks, and Jose Albarran running. Frank Barker was the only person to file for a two-year partial term.
