Gordon S. Miller, 91, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Gordon was born August 31, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI to Basil & Marjorie (Burns) Miller. He married Melanie L. Myers November 6, 1987, and she preceded him in death October 7, 2014.
Mr. Miller was a power plant operator for many years, working for the City of Coldwater. He briefly worked as an aid at the Coldwater Regional Center and then worked in maintenance, eventually retiring from the correctional facility in 2000. Gordon also had a side business, skidding logs, that he operated for many years.
Gordon spent most of his life in the Branch County area. He was well traveled, visiting 44 of the 50 states, sharing the good news of our Lord. He was very devout in his faith and became an ordained minister in 2015. He attended many churches and shared his testimony and sermons with others on Facebook.
Gordon attended the former Pelton Avenue Christian Church where his father was an elder. He was instrumental in starting the Northview Christian Church where he was a charter member and had served as the Youth Pastor. He supported Northview’s mission in sending Bibles to Africa. Gordon attended the Church of Christ at Bronson, Revelation Chapel in Ray and was currently attending The Living Room Life Center in Fremont, IN.
He was a member of the Masonic Green Leaf Lodge #349 in Kinderhook and the Knights of Pythius in Quincy. Gordon enjoyed keeping busy and truly loved his work.
He enjoyed flying, riding motorcycles, computers and sharing his love of Jesus. Jesus gave us salvation, saved through Grace from his death on the cross. He died and rose again to set us free from sin! That was his mission throughout his life.
Gordon is survived by his children Alan Miller of Quincy, Craig Miller of Coldwater and Martica (Roger) Miller-Lowe of Quincy; his brothers Colin Miller of Jonesboro, AR, Dale (Anne) Miller of Zephyrhills, FL; his grandchildren Jordan Miller, Kallie Miller, Shannon Reynolds; 5 great grandchildren including Alana Miller, Wade Miller, Charlie Miller, Gabriel Miller, Colton Miller; nephews and niece Terry Byers, Tim Byers, Dale Byers Jr., Candy (Byers) Goss all of Coldwater and his longtime companion Sharlene Cleaver of Coldwater.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son Brian Miller and daughter-in-law Kathy (Hagy) Miller.
