LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The U.S. Postal Service is being sued by 26 states, including Michigan, as they are challenging the new rule giving USPS the authority to regulate mail-in voting during federal elections.
The states say the rule will prevent them from effectively administering their mail voting programs and that puts voters at risk of being disenfranchised.
Attorney General Dana Nessel says President Trump ‘is scrambling to usurp the electoral process because he is afraid of the outcome this November, but the Constitution is clear: states run elections.”
Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson echoed Nessel in a statement.
