HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater fell to 3-1 overall, 0-1 in the Interstate 8, as they dropped their league opener at Hastings 42-6 Friday night. The Saxons had a huge advantage in the ground game, outgaining the Cardinals 394-119 as they led 8-0 after the first quarter and 28-6 at halftime.
Dracyn Foster was 9-of-24 passing for 164 and also ran for 61 yards on 7 carries. Travon Mitchell had 5 receptions for 71 yards and Coldwater’s only score of the night, while twin brother Trevor Mitchell had 2 receptions for 55 yards. Wayne Case added 2 catches for 38 yards. Defensively, Travon Mitchell had a team-high 8 tackles, and Cooper Golematis had 7.
The Cardinals will host Jackson Northwest next Friday for Homecoming.

COLDWATER, MI – It was a happy Homecoming for the Bronson Vikings at their primary home away from home this season, as they blanked Homer 38-0 at Cardinal Field.
The Vikings improved to 2-2 overall and in the Big 8. They will host Buchanan next Friday at Sturgis.
