QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that occurred on Tuesday evening, on North Fremont Road near Lott Road.
According to Quincy Police Chief Dalton Turmell, a 29-year-old Quincy resident was driving a blue Toyota Camry northbound when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. The driver suffered severe injuries and required extraction by emergency personnel before being airlifted via Life Flight to an unnamed regional hospital.
There has been no word on his condition.
The incident, which prompted a temporary road closure, drew a multi-agency response including the Quincy Fire Department, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, and Branch County Central Dispatch.
Earlier that same day, Quincy officers responded to a separate, two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-12 and Ridge Road.
In that crash, a black Jeep struck the rear and side of a GMC Chevrolet pickup truck as the truck was turning westbound onto the highway.
The 28-year-old male driver of the Jeep sustained a hand injury and was evaluated at the scene by Lifecare Ambulance Service. Meanwhile, the 71-year-old female driver of the pickup complained of pain and stated she would seek her own medical treatment.
Emergency personnel from the Quincy Fire Department, Branch County Sheriff’s Office, and Central Dispatch assisted with traffic control and scene management.
Both accidents remain under active investigation.
