COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A plan for Branch County Habitat for Humanity to relocate their ReStore retail operations to the corner Division and Sherman Streets is scheduled to come before the City of Coldwater Planning Commission Monday night.
Habitat has purchased a vacant lot which was formerly occupied by two single-family homes which have been demolished. One was knocked down within the last several years and the other in the mid-1980s.
The applicant is proposing a 4,600 square feet commercial building. The ReStore would move from its current location on U.S. 12 east of Coldwater.
The store sells donated items as a way to raise funds for Habitat’s home construction and ownership activities.
Also on Monday’s agenda will be a request from Anitom Automation to install a truck drive in order provide easier access to their loading dock. Anitom purchased a strip of land from The Ponds LLC with the intention of installing the gravel drive which would be 20 foot wide and 300 feet long. It would be south of the house at 359 South Clay Street and north of the Branch County Road Commission property.
