QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quick action by a Quincy firefighter and his wife Wednesday night may have saved a man’s life.
Quincy firefighters were requested to respond to a cardiac arrest in the village.
Senior firefighter Richard Sattler lives near where the medical situation was taking place.
Fire officials say Sattler and his wife, Wendy, got to the scene within seconds of receiving the call and began CPR.
Fellow firefighters arrived moments later and immediately attached an AED and continued high performance CPR.
When the paramedics arrived, they were able to quickly hook the patient to their equipment and begin administering advanced care.
A steady pulse was soon regained and the patient was breathing on his own by the time he arrived at the hospital.
Quincy fire officials said on their Facebook page that at last check, the man is receiving care in Kalamazoo and he is responsive to his family.
