QUINCY, MI 9WTVB) – In girls high school soccer, Quincy fell to 1-2 on the season Tuesday, losing at home to Hanover-Horton 2-0.
The Orioles will take on Coldwater Thursday in the “Battle of the Birds” Thursday night on the Cardinals home pitch starting at 6:30 p.m.
Soccer programs at Bronson High School are closer to becoming a reality after the Bronson School Board Monday night unanimously approved adding boys and girls teams. A group of local citizens have been raising funds to support the programs in recent months.

Both of the Quincy teams finished second Tuesday in a meet with Pittsford, Vandercook Lake and Waldron. Winners for Quincy in the boys meet were Devan Fisher (100 and 200), Erik Butchart (3,200), Alex Pickell (300 hurdles) and Ian Trall (high jump). Quincy won the 400 relay.
Winners for the Orioles in the girls meet were Jessica Holcomb (100 and long jump), Nikkia Cronk (200) and Madelyn Allman (300 hurdles). Quincy won the 400 and 1,600 relays.
