COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In high school wrestling, Coldwater defeated a short-handed Jackson Lumen Christi squad Wednesday night 61-9 in their opening meet of the season at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Cardinal pins were scored by Logan Pike (119), Vincent Motta (135) and Caleb Litwiller (152). Major decisions were scored by Jabr Muflihi (112) and Marshall Hoard (125). Winning on defaults were Hunter Munson (140), Zeke Nowicki (145), Gabe Mongan (160), Nick Buchanan (171), Matt Gipple (189) and Cody Miller (215).
Bronson opened their season with a pair of wins as they defeated Berrien Springs 69-0 and Niles Brandywine 47-32. Double winners for the Vikings were Perry Lake (112), Ben Modert (125), Brenyn Fee (135), J.C. DePaz (171) and Brendan Post (189).
Quincy split a pair of matches as they lost to St. Johns 51-30 but defeated Sand Creek 45-28. One of the highlights for the Orioles was a victory for Chandler Locke over the tenth ranked wrestler in the state at 171 pounds.
