COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Office says several persons and companies have donated items to K-9 Chaos this year.
Chaos and K-9 Cane went on duty last May at the Branch County Sheriff’s Department thanks to private donations.
The Sheriff’s Department brought back a K-9 program at the jail. “Cane” is only used for the search of contraband. Corrections Officer Shane Norton is his handler. K-9 “Chaos” is a member of the road patrol. His handler is Scott Jaye.
Scott LaRoe from Magnum K-9 Training in Quincy trained the two dogs.
Tractor Supply Company donated K-9 “Chaos’” dog food while the Professional Law Enforcement Association Foundation donated a ballistic vest.
Tekonsha Animal Hospital donated free heart worm, flea and tick medicine along with discounted treatment and boarding.
The Trine University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team donated a constant supply of tennis balls which are always used for training.
An anonymous donor donated and made the K-9 Police baseball cards which are passed out mostly to children.
