MASON, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater boys finished fifth while the Coldwater girls were third on Friday at the MHSAA Division 2 Track and Field Regionals which were hosted by Mason. Parma Western won both of the team regional titles.
In the boys meet, Coldwater’s Dylan Targgart won regional championships in the discus with a distance of 166 feet, eight inches and the shot put with a winning distance of 61 feet. Matt Gipple won the 100 meters with a time of 11.29. Kyle Foulk won the 3200 with a personal best time of 9:48.3.
In the girls meet, Coldwater’s Elka Machan had a big day as she qualified for the state finals in three events. Machan won the 1600 with a time of 5:13.68 and the 3200 with a time of 11:31.46. She was also a member of the winning 3200 relay team. The team of Jayda Kelly, Machan, Tyler Scheid and Kathy Potter had a winning time of 9:40.92. Schied and Potter were third and fourth respectively in the 800. Potter was third in the 1600. Olivia Foley was third in the shot put while Ellory Farmer was fourth.
