FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – Indiana State Police have released the details of a fatal crash which took place over the weekend just south of the Branch County line on Old U.S. 27.
Troopers say the accident happened at around midnight Saturday night when a Steuben County Sheriff’s Deputy was trying to stop a car driven by 33-year-old Ebonie Geddes of Angola for a traffic violation.
Geddes allegedly drove through a red light at the intersection of Old U.S. 27 and State Road 120, drove left of center and collided head-on with an S.U.V. driven by 17-year-old Haley Bracewell of Kent City, Michigan.
Geddes was pronounced dead at the scene. Bracewell and a front seat passenger, 45-year-old Eric Bracewell of Kent City, were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident is still under investigation and toxicology results are pending.
