COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Bond for a Coldwater man was set at a half million dollars on Friday in Branch County District Court following an alleged sexual assault of a 68-year old woman in her Ovid Township home.
34-year-old Travis Walker was formally charged Friday with first degree criminal sexual conduct causing personal injury.
His probable cause hearing was scheduled for November 7th with a preliminary exam on November 14th.
A no contact order was entered on behalf of the alleged victim should Walker be freed on bond.
Walker was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation into the alleged incident.
State Police say the victim called 911 at 10:20 pm Thursday and told the dispatcher she had been attacked by an acquaintance of several years who had been visiting her.
The suspect fled from the scene but was arrested a short time later at his residence.
The woman was treated and released at the Community Health Center of Branch County after being examined by the hospital’s sexual assault nurse.
