JACKSON, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school volleyball, Coldwater wrapped up the Interstate 8 Conference title Saturday, as they won the conference tournament at Jackson Northwest High School.
The Cardinals went into the tournament undefeated beating all 7 teams in 3 straight games during the season. The Lady Cardinals were seeded #1 and were matched up against Hastings (seed 8), they won the first match of the day 25-10, 25-15. After a two game wait the Cardinals were then matched up against Parma Western, who had just beaten Jackson Northwest, and the Lady Cards ended on top again 25-16, 20-25, 15-9.
For the finals the Lady Cards faced #2 seed Marshall. Coldwater won in 3 by scores of 25-9, 28-26, 25-19.

*Jasmine Wellet led in kills with 38, had 33 digs, and 4 blocks
*Tyler Scheid led in aces with 6, led in blocks with 6, and had 8 kills
*Olivia Foley led in assists with 48, had 22 digs, 4 blocks, and 8 kills
*Jamie Wellet had 36 assists, led in digs with 34, 5 aces, and 15 kills
*Malorie Rzepka had 21 kills and 4 blocks
*Ellory Farmer had 4 aces
*Izzy Foley had 19 digs
*Sam Rodesiler had 12 kills and 4 blocks
Coldwater has a bye in the opening round of the MHSAA volleyball district at Gull Lake. They will play the winner of Monday’s match-up between Gull Lake and Sturgis on Wednesday night at Gull Lake.
