BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – An unattended rubbish fire is being blamed by Bronson fire investigators for a barn fire in the 400 block of South Parham Road which caused about $30,000 worth of damage on Sunday afternoon.
Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber says his department was dispatched at about 3:00 p.m..
He says heavy smoke was coming from the 40 by 54 foot pole barn when fire crews arrived.
Bronson firefighters quickly got the fire under control. The Lakeland Fire Department was initially called for a tanker truck but they were cancelled as they were heading to the scene.
No injuries were reported. The contents inside of the building sustained $10,000 in damages while damages to the building were estimated at $20,000.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Lifecare Ambulance and Consumer’s Energy also responded to the scene.
