Rachel Marie Skudlarick, 87 of Girard Township passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2019 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater. Visitation will take place from 5-8:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Lighthouse of Tekonsha, with a prayer service starting at 7:30 PM.
Rachel was born on December 19, 1931 in Girard, MI to Stephen and “Mae” (Diamond) Skudlarick. She graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1949 and worked for both Federal Mogul and the former Community Health Center of Branch County.
Rachel was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and participated in activities at the H & C Burnside Center in Coldwater. She was always doing something, whether helping with local dog rescue efforts and canine adoption events, volunteering at the St. Mark’s Nearly New store or visiting friends. Around home, she enjoyed doing yardwork.
Survivors include Rachel’s sister-in-law, Jan Skudlarick of South Lyon; nieces and nephews, Karen (Allan) Van Stelle of Batavia Township, Kathy (Craig) Sewell of Allegan, Doreen (Mark) Hannon of South Lyon and Kevin (Kimberly) Skudlarick of Coldwater; eight great-nieces and nephews; six great-great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Joseph Skudlarick and Gale Skudlarick; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Skudlarick; and a nephew, Doug Skudlarick.
