Vivian “Vicky” LaDonna Pope, 85, died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
She was born September 12, 1934, the only child of Orrie B. and Louise N. Tropp. Following graduation from Coldwater High School in 1952 she moved to Detroit where she worked at the J.L. Hudson Co. and attended John Robert Powers Modeling School.
She was married to Paul W. Pope Jr. from 1953 until 1967 and had four children.
She worked for several local companies including the G.C. Murphy Co., the General Telephone Co., Federal Mogul Corp., Coldwater State Home and Training School, Branch County Circuit Court, the Greater Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce and Wick Homes. She was married to Michael J. Rompf from 1981 to 1991 and resided in Grand Rapids, MI.
She was employed at Laser Alignment, Inc. as a buyer from 1981 until her retirement in 1996. Vicki enjoyed reading, working puzzles, playing cards with her friends and sewing. She was a volunteer with the Creative Quilters at the H & C Burnside Senior Center for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. LaDonna Spragg Orr of Peoria, IL; Connie Jo Pope of Coldwater; one son Anthony Lee Pope of Ann Arbor, MI; one granddaughter; two grandsons and three great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Wesley Pope and her son-in-law Edwin “Ted” Spragg.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Case officiating. A private burial of cremains will be held at Evergreen Cemetery later that day.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Branch County Community Foundation or the Humane Society of Branch County.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
