COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to take formal action Tuesday afternoon on 2021 Wages for Commissioners as well as for Elected Officials. They are also scheduled to act on 2021 wages for Non-Union and Management Personnel.
County Commissioner Terri Norris recently requested that the Board of Commissioners wages and per diem be reviewed.
She said during last Thursday’s work session there should be an increase for the next Board of Commissioners, who will start their term in January, because of the amount of time they put into the job.
Norris recommended that the Chair receive a base salary of $9,000 with other members receiving a base salary of $8,000.
Per diem pay would stay at $50 per meeting for meetings up to two hours and $100 for meetings over two hours with a maximum of $200 per day. The Board per diem has not been increased since 2005.
Norris also pointed out Commissioners have not gotten a wage increase in ten years.
Commissioners are also scheduled to take action on Tuesday on proposed 2021 two-point-six percent wage increases for Elected Officials as well as for Non-Union and Management Personnel.
