OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 76-year-old Coldwater man who was trapped in his vehicle after crashing in Ovid Township on Thursday night was flown to Borgess Hospital after suffering a severe laceration to the head.
The injury was said to be non-life threatening.
The Michigan State Police say the crash happened on Quimby Road near Tallahasee Road at about 9:30 p.m. when the southbound vehicle did not turn for the curve in the road.
It then went off the road and went into a ditch before it turning onto its side and striking multiple trees.
The driver was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Lakeland and Coldwater Fire Departments. After being freed, the man was examined by Lifecare EMS.
The Michigan State Police are still investigating the crash.
